About Varad Sahasrabudhe
Varad Sahasrabudhe is a Los Angeles–based guitarist and composer blending jazz, experimental, and global influences into a distinctive, culturally rooted sound shaped by his heritage.
Originally from Pune, India, he moved to the U.S. at 18 and has since performed with artists including John Beasley, Ralph Moore, Carl Allen, Jason Moran, Ernie Watts, Keith Fiddmont, and Kim Richmond. He has also performed with Stanley Clarke at the Future Sounds of Jazz Festival and opened for Clarke and the N4ever band at The BroadStage.
In 2026, he appeared at the inaugural International Santa Monica Jazz Festival alongside Genevieve Artadi, Elijah Fox, and Billy Mohler.
His projects include The Ideal Foray, an experimental EP created with Mann Bipin and Hyunjin Kim. After completing his US West Coast Tour, he is currently recording a new album with his Los Angeles–based project, The Genesys Project.
His honors include the JEXA Emerging Artist Grant (2024), the Herb Alpert Scholarship (2024–2025), the Musicians Institute Musicianship Scholarship (2020), and the Takamine Acoustic Guitar Scholarship (2021). He has attended Musicians Institute, Santa Monica College and holds a degree in Jazz Performance from California State University, Northridge.
